Installation & Setup

How do I install FitSwitch on my Peloton?

Installation guides with photos for each step are here: - Original Bike: https://fitswitch.io/pages/bike-installation - Bike+: https://fitswitch.io/pages/bike-plus-installation

The key requirement is that USB debugging must be enabled in your Peloton's Developer Mode (the guides walk you through this). If you get stuck on any step, contact our support team and we'll help.

There's no light on my FitSwitch / it won't power on

A few things to check: 1. Make sure every cable is fully seated — the splitter must have power to both the Peloton and the FitSwitch. 2. Use only the cable we included — the Peloton tablet only works with specific cables, and most generic USB cables will not power the device. 3. Confirm USB debugging is enabled in Developer Mode.

If you've confirmed all three and still see no light, reply with a photo of how your cables are connected and we'll diagnose it with you.

The light flashes white/purple/red but the app won't launch

This almost always means the "Allow always from this computer" authorization step wasn't completed. When you first press the button you should see a popup on the Peloton screen — you must check "Always allow from this computer" and tap OK. See the final steps of the install guide: - Bike: https://fitswitch.io/pages/bike-installation - Bike+: https://fitswitch.io/pages/bike-plus-installation

It says "cannot connect to internet" when activating

Make sure your Peloton itself is connected to WiFi first, then retry activation. If it persists, contact us and we'll walk through it with you live.

Compatible Apps & App Requests

What apps can I run on my Peloton with FitSwitch?

FitSwitch lets you install a wide and growing range of apps — including Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime, Zwift, Rouvy, Spotify, a web browser, and many more. You can install as many as your storage allows. See the full current list on our Apps page: https://fitswitch.io/pages/apps

Can you add [MyWhoosh / Kinomap / another app]?

We're always adding apps! Send us the app name and we'll test it — if it's compatible we typically add it within a week or so via an app update.

Can I watch YouTube?

Yes we have a YouTube app version as well as SmartTube app or watch YouTube through the Browser — both work full screen.

Does the volume work / play through the speakers?

Yes — audio plays normally through the Peloton speakers and also works with connected Bluetooth headphones.

Which Version Do I Need?

Which FitSwitch do I need — Bike or Bike+?

FitSwitch comes in two versions because the Original Bike and the Bike+ use different cables. Order the one that matches your equipment. If you ordered the wrong version, contact us — we can usually just send the correct cables rather than having you return the whole unit.

I ordered the wrong version — can I fix it?

No problem. Email us with your order number — and send the correct cables for your Bike, so you don't have to return anything. We just ask that you pay the shipping cost.

Training Apps: Rouvy, Kinomap, MyWhoosh

Rouvy isn't showing up / won't pair / no cadence or power

Training apps like Rouvy, Kinomap, and MyWhoosh require our free companion app, FitSwitch Bridge, running on a separate phone or tablet — it relays your cadence and power data. - Rouvy video walkthrough: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qkZO6IyIby4 - Kinomap setup: https://fitswitch.io/pages/kinomap-setup

Make sure FitSwitch Bridge is updated to the latest version in your app store.

Auto resistance / ERG mode isn't working

Make sure FitSwitch Bridge is on the latest version (open your app store and tap Update). ERG/auto-resistance support has had ongoing improvements — if it's still not adjusting after updating, contact us and we'll get you on the newest build.

Zwift & Storage Space

I can't install Zwift / "another app is updating" error

This is almost always a storage issue. One version of the Bike+ tablet has only 8GB of storage, while the Original Bike has 16GB. Zwift is very large (~5–6GB) and cannot fit on the Bike+ tablet version that only has 8GBs. - Tip: Restarting your tablet usually clears the "another app is updating" message and lets you continue installing other apps. - If Zwift won't fit, many users run Zwift on a separate phone/tablet/TV and use FitSwitch to stream the Peloton's cadence/power data to it.

Returns & Refunds

How do I return my FitSwitch for a refund?

We're happy to help. Send your FitSwitch to the address below with your order number inside the box, and we'll issue a refund as soon as it arrives:

Paradigm IOT 4031 Dean Martin Dr Las Vegas, NV 89103

Before you return it, though — many issues are quick fixes (wrong cable, storage, or the Bridge app for training apps). Reply here first and we'll try to get it working for you.

Talking to a Person / Contact

How do I reach a real person?

Peloton Tread Compatibility

Does FitSwitch work on the Peloton Tread?

FitSwitch works on the Tread (not the Tread+). It's technically compatible with the Tread+ but that model has a cover that hides the tablet connections and there is no where for the cables to exit so to use with the Tread+ a user would either have to leave the cover off or make a hole in the cover for the cables to exit.

Peloton Subscription

Do I need a Peloton subscription to use FitSwitch?

No — you do not need an active Peloton subscription to install or use FitSwitch and its apps. (If your subscription is active, note that Peloton's own ride metrics can conflict with the FitSwitch overlay — see below.)

My ride stats/overlay aren't showing

On the FitSwitch app's main screen there's a "show overlay" toggle — that overlay is where your ride stats appear. You can reset it by double-clicking the timer. Note: if you have an active Peloton subscription and start a Peloton ride or stream through the Peloton app, that will override the FitSwitch overlay.

Safety / Risk

Will FitSwitch brick or damage my bike?

We've sold thousands of units and have never had FitSwitch brick a bike. If you ever want to remove everything, a Peloton factory reset completely uninstalls it. As a precaution, most users disable Peloton auto-updates so a future Peloton update doesn't interfere with the device.

Disney+ (or another app) shows "New Version Available" and won't open

Some streaming apps prompt for an update that then loops back to the home screen. Reply here with the app name and we'll push a compatible version or workaround — this is something we fix on our end via app updates.

Device Compatibility & Requirements

Does FitSwitch work with my Peloton? Are older tablets supported?

FitSwitch works with the Peloton Bike, Bike+, and Tread. However, we no longer support the older Peloton tablets running Android 7 — these are the earliest first-generation screens. If your tablet is on Android 7, FitSwitch will not work. To check: tap the three dots (⋮) → Device Settings → About Tablet → Android version.

Which Peloton models does FitSwitch work on, and what works on each?
  • Original Bike: apps, streaming, metrics overlay, data broadcast. Resistance is manual (no auto-resistance — no internal motor).
  • Bike+: everything above, plus ERG mode, SIM mode, constant-power, and auto-resistance (it has a motorized resistance system).
  • Tread: apps and streaming work; running metrics (speed/incline/pace) overlay is supported. Auto adjustment through apps or watches of incline and speed also supported
What kind of USB port does my Peloton use?

The original Bike uses a USB Micro port; the Bike+ uses USB-C. FitSwitch ships with the correct cable for your model — that's why the two versions exist. There's only one USB port on the tablet.

Do I need one FitSwitch per bike?

Yes — FitSwitch is installed per bike, so each Peloton needs its own device.

What are the requirements for the FitSwitch Bridge app?

FitSwitch Bridge runs on iOS or Android and is free and available through the app store.

Connecting to Watches, Apps & Sensors

Can I send my Peloton data to my Garmin, Apple Watch, or another app?

Yes — this is one of FitSwitch's main features. It broadcasts your power, cadence, and heart rate over both ANT+ and Bluetooth at the same time, so Garmin, Apple Watch, Wahoo, Zwift, TrainerRoad, and others can record your ride. (Peloton itself does not broadcast this data — that's why a device like FitSwitch is needed.) Note: Apple Watch receives Bluetooth only (it can't do ANT+).

Can my Garmin control my bike's resistance?

On the Bike+, yes — Garmin devices that support FE-C can run structured workouts and control resistance through FitSwitch. On the original Bike, Garmin shows your target power but you adjust the knob manually (no motor to control).

Can multiple devices receive my data at once?

Yes. You can run a training app on the Peloton screen, record on a Garmin/Apple Watch, and stream to a phone all at the same time.

How do I connect a heart rate monitor?

On the FitSwitch home screen, tap "Heart Rate: Not Connected" in the bottom-left corner, then select your monitor from the list. FitSwitch supports ANT/ANT+ heart rate monitors (Peloton itself only supports Bluetooth), and it rebroadcasts your HR to your other apps and watch. It remembers your monitor for next time. Works with Polar (H10/H9/OH1), Garmin (HRM-Pro/Dual), Wahoo TICKR, Scosche Rhythm, and most generic ANT+ straps.

How do I get my rides into Strava?

Two ways: (1) Use Peloton's own official Strava integration (Settings → Connected Networks → Strava) — note it only syncs summary data and only workouts done after connecting. (2) For full second-by-second data, record the ride on a Garmin/Apple Watch (receiving FitSwitch's broadcast) and let that sync to Strava. Strava can't receive ANT+ directly.

App-Specific Notes

Netflix or Prime Video immediately jumps back to the Peloton screen

On some Peloton software versions, Netflix or Prime Video can bounce straight back to the Peloton home screen the moment you open them. To fix it, press and hold the button on your FitSwitch for 10 seconds. You will see the Fitswitch LED turn Magenta then Cyan. After this the apps will then open and play normally from then on.

Can I use MyWhoosh?

MyWhoosh needs Google Play Services, so it can't run on the Peloton screen itself. But you can run MyWhoosh on a separate phone, tablet, or computer and connect it directly to FitSwitch's Bluetooth/ANT+ broadcast — ERG and SIM mode still work on the Bike+.

Can I watch Twitch / use a Bluetooth keyboard?

Twitch doesn't have a working app but you can watch it through the Firefox browser. You can also pair a Bluetooth keyboard through Peloton's settings for easier typing.

Managing Apps & FitSwitch

How do I close an app?

Go back to the FitSwitch home screen, then long-press the app's icon (1–2 seconds) and tap Force Close App. To close FitSwitch itself, hold the version number in the lower-right corner for 5 seconds and choose Force Close — or just tap the "P" Peloton logo to return to the Peloton app.

How do I uninstall an app?

In the FitSwitch app drawer, long-press the app icon and tap UNINSTALL on the confirmation popup. Apps are removed one at a time. You can't uninstall the FitSwitch app or Peloton's own apps this way.

An app won't update or keeps crashing — what do I do?

Uninstall the app (long-press → UNINSTALL), then reinstall a fresh copy from the FitSwitch app list. This clears most app issues. Your login/account data is stored in the cloud, so you'll just sign back in.

How do I reset my time/calories/output?

Double-tap the Time display in the FitSwitch overlay at the bottom of the screen. Time, calories, and output reset to zero instantly — no need to stop pedaling. Cadence, resistance, and heart rate are live readings and aren't affected, and connected apps keep their own recordings.

If I factory reset my Peloton, do I lose FitSwitch?

No — FitSwitch is hardware. After a factory reset just plug it back in, follow the install steps again, and reinstall your apps from the built-in store (no computer needed). Your Peloton account and workout history are stored in the cloud and aren't lost.

ERG & SIM Mode (Bike+ only)

How do I turn on ERG mode (hold a constant wattage)?

With the FitSwitch overlay visible, tap your power/output reading to open the ERG control panel, set your target wattage with +/−, and tap the green checkmark. The bike then holds that wattage by adjusting resistance automatically. Tap the red X to exit. (Bike+ only — the original Bike has no motor.)

What's the difference between ERG and SIM mode?

ERG holds a fixed wattage regardless of cadence (great for structured intervals). SIM simulates terrain — resistance changes with the course gradient, your cadence, weight, and virtual gear (24 gears, default gear 12). Only one mode is active at a time.

In ERG mode the resistance shot up and I couldn't pedal — why?

That's the ERG "spiral of death" — if your cadence drops too low, ERG ramps resistance up to hit the target. Just exit ERG mode (red X) or lower the target wattage, then ease back in with a steady cadence (80–100 RPM).
